Thank you for your time.

We intend to publish our findings in early 2026.

Estimated date for Feedback:
27 February 2026 00:00

We are undertaking a thematic review of all of the firms we supervise who provide or broker motor finance loans. This includes many of the island’s motor garages and car dealerships.

We will be exploring any common trends identified within your feedback as part of this thematic review. We will consider the question, “Are customers treated fairly and in accordance with the LCF Rules?”.

Why complete the survey?

Your views matter. This survey is your chance to tell us how motor finance has worked for you under the new rules. Whether you’ve taken out a loan, used PCP, financed a car in another way (or even paid upfront in full), we would like to hear about your experience. Your feedback will help us to understand how these products work for Guernsey consumers, and whether firms are meeting their obligations.

The survey

The survey should take no more than 15 minutes to complete and can be submitted anonymously if you wish.

We kindly ask that you complete this survey only if:

  • You purchased a motor vehicle in Guernsey on or after 1st July 2023;
    or
  • You’ve used motor finance (as a borrower) in Guernsey at any time from 1st July 2023 onwards. This would include if your loan was arranged before 1st July 2023 but was still being repaid after that date.

Most questions are optional and can be left blank, if preferred. Some questions are mandatory and must be completed before you can proceed to the next section. All mandatory questions are marked with an asterisk (*).

Unless otherwise stated, please select the most appropriate answer to each question. Where more than one answer is possible, please select all answers that apply.

Complaints

If you would like to resolve a complaint, you may wish to speak to the Channel Islands Financial Ombudsman (“CIFO”). It is a free service that adjudicates in complaints about financial services (including motor finance) provided in/or from the Channel Islands. Whilst the Commission is unable to consider complaints about motor finance dating back before the LCF Law came into force (in July 2023), the CIFO can consider complaints regarding acts or omissions occurring from 2nd July 2013 onwards. More information can be found on CIFO’s website.

Information about raising complaints can also be found on the complaints pages of our website.
